The European Accessibility Act aims to reduce barriers in key products and services for people with disabilities. E-commerce is included; this does not automatically place every informational website within its scope.
Requirements for covered services apply from 28 June 2025. In Romania, the relevant law is Law No. 232/2022. A website’s creation date alone does not determine whether the service is covered; specific transitional provisions exist.
Microenterprises providing services are exempt: fewer than 10 persons and annual turnover or annual balance sheet total not exceeding EUR 2 million. Conditions for fundamental alteration or disproportionate burden also exist and require a justified assessment.
Requirements concern usable services, including accessible identification and payment. An audit can investigate barriers in navigation, understanding forms or using assistive technologies.
AccesClair documents technical barriers, impact and recommendations. A finding alone does not establish a legal breach. Our audit of up to 8 website pages is not certification or a compliance guarantee; no fixed report page count is promised.
